Lack of awareness is one of the main reasons why breast cancer is picked up at stages 3 and 4 in India. Prashanti aims to create community awareness by organizing massive camps and talks. These talks are conducted in English, Marathi, and Hindi and are held in corporates, industries, universities, colleges, Municipal co-operations, mental institutes, among the police and IT companies. First, a talk is held, followed by a screening camp. If anyone is found to have a lump during the screening, they are brought to the clinic for further investigation. The treatment in such cases is completely free of cost.
PCCM has been successful in conducting more than 40,000 awareness and screening camps till date. Additionally, PCCM drives a community program in which CBE is done on door-to-door basis.
