RT-PCR Initiative

Research Training Program for Clinicians and Residents (RT-PCR)

The Research Training Program for Clinicians and Residents (RT-PCR) is a flagship educational initiative of CTCR–PCCM, designed to encourage clinicians and residents to integrate scientific research into clinical practice and develop a deeper understanding of translational oncology.

Launched in January 2023, the programme provides structured training in cancer biology, translational research, clinical research methodologies, and emerging technologies in oncology through a combination of online lectures, expert interactions, and practical learning opportunities.

Module I: Cell and Molecular Biology for Onco-Clinicians (CMBOC)

A 12-week introductory course covering the fundamentals of molecular and cellular biology, cancer genetics, immunology, and their applications in modern cancer treatment. Access module.

Module II: Molecular Insights into Oncology (MIIO)

Focused on advanced topics including cancer profiling, epigenetics, precision medicine, single-cell genomics, AI and ML in oncology, bioinformatics, ctDNA, clinical trial design, and the microbiome-cancer connection. Access module.

Module III: Women Pioneers in Oncology Research and Practice

A multidisciplinary module exploring cancer genomics, CAR-T therapy, checkpoint inhibitors, cancer disparities, nutrition, exosomes, microbiome research, epigenetics, cancer stem cells, early detection, drug development, and the contributions of women leaders in oncology. Access module.

Module IV: Methods of Evidence Synthesis in Oncology

A dedicated 12-week online course on Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis, designed to strengthen evidence-based oncology practice through structured training in research synthesis and critical appraisal. Access module.
