Pink Ribbon Support Group's Pampering High Tea

On the eve of World Cancer Day, Pune's largest Breast Cancer Support Group, Prashanti Cancer Care Mission's  'Pink Ribbon Club' hosted its Annual High Tea for Breast Cancer conquerors, caregivers, supporters and caregivers.

The Pampering High Tea hosted on 5th February, 2018 between 4pm and 7pm saw cancer conquerors, majority of whom were provided free and concessional treatment at PCCM, having a ball. The attendees were treated with pampering salon services like massages and gel nail polish by Salon Apple staff and enjoyed fun-filled musical evening and live performances by members of Rotary Club of Amanora, Pune. The pumped up environment served as a catalyst in engaging the crowd to dance and perform karaoke singing. Patients shared their journey and various experiences of conquering breast cancer, thus reinforcing the mission of Pink Ribbon Club of providing strength and support to each other.

The Times of India - Pune – Goa Rally for Breast Cancer

It was an initiative towards creating awareness of breast cancer for women. Couple of girls driving cars came to Prashanti and we provided finger prints of patients to decorate some of the cars signifying hope, prevention, early detection & cure. We also provided pamphlets on signs, symptoms and self breast examination, along the route from Pune to Goa.

What better way to celebrate the day than create awareness amongst the community about woman cancer. Our team gave several talks on the day to packed audiences. Our CEO, Ms. Laleh Busheri was invited as the chief guest for one such event organized by Media Box Office.

Eminent four speakers were Dr. Vishwas Yevle, author of two books on Yoga and a yoga practitioner since 50 years who spoke on 'Yog - a path to complete health and happiness', Dr. Praseeda Menon, a yoga researcher from Kaivalyadham who demonstrated yoga techniques for breast cancer patients, Jacquelene Lobo, a yoga trainer with 14 years of experience who talked about holistic effects of pranayama on mind and body and Pradnya Jog, a cancer survivor who conducted a session on 'weight loss for better waist'.

The attendees actively participated and followed the demonstrations by speakers. The program ended by speakers interacting with participants and answering their questions followed by high tea.
